Last night, I wasn’t really in the mood to do much questing so I thought I’d see if I could track down Patrannache. I’d heard he was the toughest tame in Pandaria so I was up for another challenge after my first Hunter tame the other night. Now I knew his tracks would be small but I didn’t expect them to be THAT minuscule (although it does make sense when you think about it). Not only that but he tends to zigzag quite a bit along his route.

My attention peaked when I picked up his trail just outside Stoneplow. I had read that his track also runs backwards so when I found his first footprint, I was sure to zoom in to see which direction his print was facing. His footprint was headed toward Nesingwary’s Safari so I followed another track in the opposite direction. This led me to the stone path leading out of Stoneplow. Unfortunately, that’s where I lost the trail as the tracks were so hard to see (even with my environmental detail and ground clutter turned down). So I hung around the marsh area for about an hour riding around and circling back. In the meantime, I read that he walks extra slowly but I was a little unsure of his exact route – short of watching the video as I still couldn’t watch any youtube videos (for some reason) on the laptop.

After about an hour, I gave up and went to bed thinking I’d try again later. Today I logged in after watching Euphy’s pathing video on my phone and tried again – working backwards from the marsh area. No luck. The only thing I could think to do was to go back to where I’d seen his tracks last night and wait – just outside Stoneplow. OMG! I picked up another track. Geez, they are tiny!

Patrannache track

As I zoomed in, I was able to pick up the next three tracks picking him up in my second flare attempt. Unlike Savage, Patrannache turned around while I was taming him but before I knew it he was mine.

Patrannache tamePatrannache and orc hunter

Now to pick a name.

By the way, what’s with the ugly Hunter quest reward set, pls tell me it gets better by the time I’m 90.
