With 23 new pets to collect, this is bound to keep us occupied for a while. This is more of a reference post as I work my way through the list.

Beasts of Fable

Four pets may be obtained from the new elite battle pet quest.

Red PandaRed Panda (Beast) – the reward from Beasts of Fable. Can you believe how cute I am? Me neither.

Mountain Panda (Beast) – a reward from Fabled Pandaren Pet Supplies. Cousin to the Snowy Panda, Mountain Pandas reside in the lower regions of Kun-Lai Summit.

  • Abilities: Bite (1), Cute Face (2), Burrow (4), Scratch (10), Mudslide (15), Rock Barrage (20)

Snowy Panda (Beast) – a reward from Fabled Pandaren Pet Supplies. The white fur of the Snowy Panda allows it to hide in the snowbanks of Kun-Lai Summit.

  • Abilities: Bite (1), Cute Face (2), Crouch (4), Snowball (10), Call Blizzard (15), Ice Barrier (20)

Sunfur Panda (Beast) – a reward from Fabled Pandaren Pet Supplies. These cuddly rascals enjoy basking in the sun, sleeping in the sun, and napping in the sun.

  • Abilities: Bite (1), Hibernate (2), Sunlight (4), Scratch (10), Cute Face (15), Crouch (20)

Fishing Pets

Four fish pets have been added which are non-tradeable and have very low drop rates – much like the Sea Turtle. To find out more, check out Catching Tiny Carp at El’s Extreme Anglin’ for a more detailed summary.

Tiny Blue Carp (Aquatic) These little guys only live in the clear, magical waters of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
Location: Open water in Vale of Eternal Blossoms (~150 casts)
Fishing Skill: 710 (Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, +75 Lure, Jeweled Fishing Pole)

Tiny-Green-Carp
Tiny Green Carp (Aquatic) – It is believed that the green colouration and stripes on the tiny green carp serve as camouflage in the waters of The Jade Forest, Valley of the Four Winds and the Krasarang Wilds.
Location: Open water in Yan-Zhe river, Valley of the Four Winds (266 casts)
Fishing Skill: 710 (Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, +75 Lure, Jeweled Fishing Pole)

Tiny Red Carp (Aquatic) – The red scales of these fish are believed to be a warning to predators of the Townlong Steppes and the Dread Wastes that their flesh is toxic.
Location: Open water in the Fields of Niuzao pond, Townlong Steppes (raining – not sure if this makes a difference)
Fishing Skill: 785 (Weather-Beaten Fishing Hat, Heat-Treated Spinning Lure, Jeweled Fishing Pole) – 3.5hrs

Note: The red carp took a lot longer than 3.5 hrs to fish up. I tried a couple of different spots but ended up fishing in Niuzao pond once I had bumped my fishing skill up to 785. Over two days, I was down to my last Heat-Treated Spinning Lure when it started raining. I managed to fish it up with 8mins to spare on the lure. El’s Extreme Anglin’ recommends a fishing skill of 725 for this spot.

Tiny White Carp (Aquatic) – These hardy fish can survive in a wide range of climates, from the snow-capped mountains of Kun-Lai Summit to the temperate, salty waters of the oceans around Pandaria.
Location: Right next to the Shado-Pan Monastery, Kun-Lai Summit
Fishing Skill: 780 (Heat-Treated Spinning Lure, Jeweled Fishing Pole) over several hours

Note that all four appeared as double loot when fished up (the local fish in slot one and then the Carp pet in slot two).

Isle of Giants

Spectral Porcupette
A Spectral Porcupette will be the reward for farming up 999x bones and completing A Large Pile of Giant Dinosaur Bones.

Four different dinosaur pets have a small chance to drop from Zandalari Dinomancers on the island.

Zandalari Anklerender (Beast) – These tiny minions of Zandalar are adept at stowing away within the cargo holds of enormous Zandalari warships.

Zandalari Footslasher
Zandalari Footslasher (Beast) – Even at this size, these raptors can eviscerate an entire cow in less than 10 seconds.

Zandalari Kneebiter (Beast) – This unique raptor was born on the island of Zandalar and transported here along with the rest of the Zandalari army.

Zandalari Toenibbler (Beast) – These adorable beasts are both cuddly and huggable, provided you do not enjoy having a face.

Isle of Thunder

There are four wild pets from the Isle of Thunder and one drop from a named mob:

sunreaver micro-sentry

Electrified Razortooth

Sunreaver Micro-Sentry (Mechanical) – drops from the Haywire Sunreaver Construct on The Lightning Isle. Loyal to the Sunreavers from creation, these pint-sized constructs can still pack a punch.

Electrified Razortooth (Elemental) – Lightning can be seen flowing across its body, teeth to tail.

Elder Python (Beast) – These snakes have been known to swallow gnomes in one gulp.

Swamp Croaker (Aquatic) – Probably best not to touch it.

Thundertail Flapper
Thundertail Flapper (Elemental) – Touched by lightning, these dangerous rodents should be kept at a safe distance.

Throne of Thunder

Mumper has stated that bonus rolls work on boss drops, including LFR:

LivingSandling Beasts of Fable & the Throne of Thunder Pets
Living Sandling (Elemental) Drops from the trash before the Council.
Born of sand, these dangerous creatures can form and disperse in the blink of an eye.

Ji-Kun Hatchling (Flying) Drops from Ji-Kun.
Deadly offspring of the Ancient Mother, Ji-Kun Hatchlings are considered sacred treasures in many cultures.

Son of Animus (Mechanical) Drops from Animus.
Forged in the Throne of Thunder, these tiny creations are servants of the great Dark Animus.

Miscellaneous

Gusting Grimoire is from the latest TCG expansion – Betrayal of the Guardian.

Spawn of G'nathus
G’nathus
is an elite in Townlong Steppes, and now he can drop Spawn of G’nathus.

Sadly Pierre was bumped from 5.2 so we’ll have to wait a little longer to see him on live servers.

Phew, I’d say that’s enough to sink your teeth into.
