This week’s shared topic comes from Dragonray at Azerothian Life who asks:

What is in game that you want, but you can’t have? Is there an animal you want to tame, a critter you want to collect, a tabard that has the perfect design for a transmog set etc etc.

What is it you want, but know you can’t get your hands on and have to stare at longingly whenever you log in?

I admit there’s a lot in the game right now that I would like to achieve. Some of these you’ve heard before but since this is a topic that asks the question, it’s also had the added side-effect of making me focus on and articulate some of the things that have been on my mind lately – especially when I read certain blogs. Let me warn you that I feel the need to rant a bit so here goes…

I miss some of the support people I had back in the day to do things with. Granted most of these people were in a different time zone so it made things a little difficult and time constricting but we were still a group of people who could play well and have a good time while getting things done. We ran tens when it wasn’t popular and we achieved some pretty great things in that time. Even on this server, there have been one or two I can think of with any regularity who was up for doing things like transmog runs or achievement runs – two of the things I most love to do in-game to this day.

In fact, I recently asked someone not to link to some of my new images and just leave the general link there because if people were interested in looking at my posts they should come directly to the source. My reason being – once you saw the image, the reader most probably would not be interested in the how or why for the post. Which showed in the low traffic numbers from that particular post. But there were two points that stuck out:

  1. If the person does not like the blogger or want to visit the blog in question they could cheat by not having to physically go to the post.
  2. Some type of acknowledgement to comments I had made on another blog in support of relationships or friendships to those same people would say so much.

It’s also become apparent that even though some of these individuals made it seem like there’s no ill-will between us there has been no effort on their part to make contact whether it be acknowledgement in-game from time to time or even a comment on my blog if they take the time to look or read. But after so many attempts now, I consider it a lost cause.

These things have been weighing on me a lot over the past few months as it’s nice to feel some support from the people you have actually built a history with. This, of course, is very different to the great many bloggers and other people in the community that I have had wonderful support from. But it’s just… different… more personal in a way as a few of these I have even met in real life although living in the same country helps. But Coolidge is in a league of his own as he came to just meet me <3

It was clear though from the last meet-up I went to, it was very much a Guild event and I was the outsider. There were a few who made an effort to make me feel welcome so for that I thank you. However, from the way things ended, I’m a little sorry I went now except for the few who are still openly friendly whether it’s from following my blog and commenting or through twitter or Facebook feeds.

I honestly can’t wait for Mists to come as it will open up some new possibilities in the game in terms of content, new gear – costumes, transmog or otherwise, as well as all the new achievements I can work on again. I still love playing with Coolidge but it’s hard not to miss some of the things I had such enjoyment for, so it’s a bit of a catch-22 situation.

But on a lighter note, there are three rares that I have still yet to see – Time-Lost, Aeonaxx and Xariona. As you may know, I love writing guides but I prefer to write guides based on my own personal experiences. This means I’m often itching to start the World Events, particularly if there’s any new stuff that year – esp. when images are involved. So for Xariona, even though its old news to a lot of you, it would still be exciting for me to write about.

I did have a wish to also tame Skarr on my hunter but since I’m not doing a lot on her lately, it doesn’t seem too likely. Although I may go back one day and do it, I’d also like to get a good shot of the other Madexx colours I’m missing (inc. the red).

Val’anyr would have to be a big one, as well as the gear but it’s at the bottom of the list since I don’t see it being done anytime soon. Thx to Kam for offering help on that one.

Finishing off all the dungeon and raid achievements would have to be a big one too.

Oh and I always thought it would be cool to play an Ethereal, they look really cool when they die and I like how they move. But since I can’t have that I would settle for the TCG Ethereal Soul-Trader pet for the vendor and I’d LOVE to get the outfit.

That’s all I can think of right now…
