Acroniss

Yesterday I was curious to see how much of the AQ40 set I could pick up after farming the classic pets recently, so I looked up the Striker’s Garb and realised I had all the BOP items, idols and scarabs between my bags and the Guild bank.

It turns out I still needed the belt and gloves so I killed my way up to the end (short of two optional bosses). Unfortunately, neither dropped but I happened to have a couple of substitutes in my bag.

My next task was a matching pet and I happened to have the perfect one in mind. I always thought those Arcane Wyrms were so cool looking after seeing them back in Coldarra. Back then, I remember wishing they were tameable so I was excited to hear that they now were. There are quite a few colours around but I loved the look of this one in Silithus. It took a while to actually see him though but camping rares is something I’ve spent countless hours on over the years.

So after I collected my AQ set, I headed back to the cave in Twilight’s Run and waited while working on my Valentine post. Once I had a set worked out in Mogit, I switched over to my laptop on the other side of the room so I could re-create the set in WMV. This was great as I could still be logged into the game for the tame and play around in WMV for my superhero post.

It only took a couple of hours before Acroniss spawned which caused me to immediately race over to the main computer. However, as I ran over to start taming, I had inadvertently become caught in the laptop/headset cords, and fallen forward into my desk chair and desk across the room. My knees didn’t know what hit them.

The good news was I managed to take a couple of pics before I started taming but I was afraid that someone would come along and kill it since there was quite a bit of traffic from levelling players.

As you can see, I managed to get her without further incident so went back to AQ40 for some obligatory shots. Why? Because It’s Red… or rare and hot pink!
