When I noticed a tweet and missed call from Navi this afternoon, she told me she had dropped by with a gift but ended up leaving it at my front door. Turns out she was my Twitter Secret Santa and hoped it would still be ok by the time I came home. It reached a high of 32°C which is 90°F so I was thinking it must be either cupcakes or chocolate which would surely perish in this heat.
I ended up thinking about my gift for the next couple of hours as the heat continued to soar. Nav said she placed it in the shade so I figured I could shoot home just after dessert. As soon I saw the package, I knew what it was. I haven’t had Haigh’s chocolate since my last contract in the city so it was a nice surprise from my #TSS.
This is what they were supposed to look like.
Gold Star Tin with Milk Hearts
8 milk chocolate foiled hearts in gold star tin.
Cappuccino Bar
A delicious coffee fudge with a creamy topping enrobed in milk chocolate.
They were still in pretty good shape but the cappuccino bars needed saving – stat!
After 6hrs in the fridge, one question remained. Were they as good as I remember?
In a word – YES!
Thanks to Nav for the yummy present and Obsidian_Dragon for organising the event.
Oh yum! Now, I’m going to have to add Mocha cookies to my list of cookies to make as that Cappuccino Bar made me hungry for them.
I’m glad they survived!
They sound great.
Oh no they look terrible! But glad they tasted ok after fridge time :) merry xmas!
It was like Dali’s Persistence of Memory. :P
