It’s been an exciting year with a few major developments including a theme change when my old one finally broke the site. It was an old theme which hadn’t been updated for over a year but that’s how much I liked it. After all, I customised it quite a bit so I was reluctant to change the theme even after various issues arose but after a recent update to WordPress, I was forced to look for an alternative.
I probably tried ten different themes before I finally decided on this one. The featured images and content modules allowed me to showcase some of my favourite subjects while the tabbed elements were something I’ve been wanting to try for a while. I had already spent a lot of time formatting the garrison guide so I needed a theme which could support the tabbed module without having to use a plugin or add code. Best of all, I haven’t felt the need to customise the theme much.
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed a huge spike in views. I expected people to be looking at my Warlords of Draenor posts but had no idea how much of an impact my garrison guide would have. I was gobsmacked!
Holy Crap! My Garrison Guide has officially overtaken my most viewed page of all time by A LOT!! Thanks everyone <3 pic.twitter.com/DIRj4UPzeB

I felt validated. All that time and effort was paying off. With ~35 people on the blog at any one time, it was really exciting. My busiest day saw almost 10,000 views!
The only thing more exciting was my own NPC which is still humbling and amazing. At the time, I was excited to just log in and see her for myself but I’ve had several months to get used to the idea and have now added a commentary.
Thank you to everyone whose been curious enough to read my posts over the years. I hope you’ve managed to leave a little more informed or entertained from my eclectic mix of Super to novelty posts. Just be sure to leave a comment every now and then so I know you’ve stopped by, especially if a guide has helped.
