When news broke of Ben Affleck playing the masked crusader in Warner Bros.’ Batman v. Superman movie, there was a huge uproar from hardcore fans. Daredevil may not have been the huge hit Fox Studios hoped for but that doesn’t mean he won’t do a stand-up job here. From what I’ve seen, he looks great in the role as both Bruce Wayne and you know, that other brooding guy. There’s even talk of Batfleck going on to do three stand-alone movies after this one’s released next year.

Bits and pieces have emerged on what we can expect from the upcoming movie and beyond. Director Zack Snyder explains:

It is one giant story. The first thing we had was the Justice League concept. The other movies, in a way, have to support that. That is our Wonder Woman, our Aquaman. They have their own creative concepts that supports them, but they do serve Justice League in the coming together of those heroes.

Producer Deborah Snyder described it as, “Kind of a timeline of what every movie is, where it is going, and where the films fit in relation to each other” and that all started with Man of Steel back in 2013. If that’s true, the mass destruction we saw at the end of the movie makes a lot more sense for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

So far, we know Wonder Woman plays a significant role and I’m so glad they’re no longer portraying her as one of the ancient Kryptonians mentioned in Man of Steel. Honestly, I’m just excited we’ll finally be able to see her on the big screen along with those other two superheroes. Sadly, Batfleck wasn’t the only one to cop a lot of flack as many were unconvinced Gal Gadot would make a convincing Amazonian. However, after her screen test with Affleck, the directors were blown away by her performance and I have to say she looks KICK-ASS!

In February, this poster confirmed Jason Momoa’s addition as Aquaman, although that appears to be a cameo. I still remember him from Baywatch Hawaii, way before he added Stargate: Atlantis, Conan the Barbarian and Game of Thrones to his list of credits.

I’m assuming we’ll see all seven Justice League members before the rolling credits end but with only four roles accounted for, that leaves three. The Flash and Cyborg have been linked to the film leaving just one unaccounted for. The Green Lantern may fill that last slot since he’s already had one stand-alone movie although that’s said to be rebooted too. He’s also a founding member of the Justice League so it makes sense to include him.

If not, who do you think it will be?
