I’m a little unsure since the item needed to level up archaeology only requires level 90 but I think you have to wait until 98 until you can actually get to the Broken Isles and witness the teleportation of Dalaran, etc.

Also, double check the main map. Hit the magnifying glass to make sure “show dig sites’ is checked.

I agree. Archaeology seems more like a chore even though I’m a completionist and like to do the achievements. There’s one more pristine left and I’m wondering if it’s tied to the 250 dig site achievement because if it is, I have at least 40 dig sites to go. I actually didn’t mind the pet and mount rewards and the elite mobs you can summon broke up the monotony a bit but they are still soloable for slightly more rewards.

I would love to at least see them add some grid dig sites like a reverse jigsaw so when you start a new dig you at least have an idea of what you’re uncovering. Not to mention the pet design I posted a few years ago.

Some sort of group summon would be good though. I just don’t think it’s likely to happen.

Yes, you can start surveying right here in the Broken Isles and level up just from digging Legion zones. Projects generally take longer to complete so it will take more fragments to complete each artifact. Just remember to pick up the new archaeology quest each fortnight (assuming you’re already 110) for some cool rewards – see list above.

That’s the default UI. Unfortunately, Blizz changed the way dig sites appear on the world map so you only see shovels which are harder to pick up with all the other icons. Just make sure ‘Show Digsites’ is selected in the upper RH corner of the World Map and you have previously learnt archaeology from the trainer.

You can level it from scratch but since you’re already 150+, you’ll just continue from that skill level. You will only see her quest once you’ve reached 110.
