It’s no surprise that I love my weekly visits to the Troves of the Thunder King scenario. I get more excited when I see multiple keys on Cymre so I can get more chances at collecting Elder Charms for my attempts. I’ve managed to reach the last room on several trips (depending on what my agenda is for that day) and have seen the treasure saurok multiple times as well.

Troves of the Thunder King

The only thing that I can’t pre-plan is the number of Golden Treasure chests in the scenario. It seems that the days I focus on Golden Chests is a bad RNG day. By now, I’m familiar with the usual locations scattered around the place so it’s just a matter of them being where I need them to be.

Golden-Chests

I was all set to kill the God-Hulk in the last room but missed out on killing him by literally a second or two when my timer ran out. That was due to a misplaced trap that was oh so slightly off in the previous room causing me to waste time killing an extra statue before I could progress to the next room. As a result, I would have to wait two more weeks to try it again as I built up a stash of Elder Charms for my next attempt but a couple of days ago, I was ecstatic to find another key in my daily treasure cache allowing me to gain access to the scenario again – just to loot chests in preparation for next week.

I’ve run this scenario so many times (on various toons) and never had such a successful run before.

By the way, if you have a few alts, this macro comes in handy if you want to make sure you’ve done your Troves of the Thunder King scenario every week. It will tell you if you’ve looted a rare, a Treasure Trove on the Isle (like the one pictured above) and run the scenario itself.

Isle of the Thunder Macro

/run for k, v in pairs({  Trove = 32609, LeiShenKey = 32626, RareMobLooted = 32610, }) do print(format(“%s: %s”, k, IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(v) and “\124cff00ff00Done\124r” or “\124cffff0000Not Done\124r”)) end

Don’t forget it is possible to collect more than one key a week from various sources.
