With the Ghosts of K’aresh, we have a bunch of new drops and other cuties to collect from patch 11.2. But what’s a major patch without a Twitch drop, especially a pet?
Promotion
Watch any World of Warcraft stream on Twitch.tv from August 5 at 10:00 am PDT until September 2 at 10:00 am PDT to claim the Shadefur Brewthief pet. You can watch mine here.
“If you have milk tea, keep an eye on it. Brewthieves love to pop out of the shadows and steal tea. Even worse, once in paw they love to show off their newly acquired beverage.”
Drop
Twelve pets come from the Wriggling Pinnacle Cache. To collect the Cache, complete Campaign Chapter 4 (so Week 2) to get access to the “Ecological Succession” activity, where we rebuild the ecosystem of the Oasis bio-dome in the northeast of K’aresh. When we complete the first storyline for Honey Bees, we get access to the Weekly and 3.5 days Quests and a Weekly WQ “Ecological Succession” where we fill a bar with these quests and other stuff. When the bar is filled, this Weekly WQ auto-completes and rewards the “Wriggling Pinnacle Cache”. The first cache looted per account/week should always have one of these 12 pets, but duplicates may occur before you see them all. (Credit: Lazey)
Widely prized as pets, cerulean lapbugs were thought to bring good fortune.
Lapbugs were widely prized as domesticated pets before the fall of K’aresh. Copper lapbugs were especially sought-after.
How this siphonmite snuck its way into a stasis container is anyone’s guess.
Early attempts to integrate with the ecosystem resulted in multiple specimens being eyeblasted.
Efforts to rewire the more desctructive tendencies of the species left this specimen more docile than most, but it was still not a successful endeavor.
This watcher’s ennui is as eternal as the struggle between the Light and the Void.
This cosmic ray pup is curious about a great many things. Don’t let it get into trouble (again)!
This little thorntail just loves to get into scraps and scrapes with its greatest foe: lapbugs.
Projections showed a less than one percent chance of successful integration, but this one is too cute to eliminate.
This baby thorntail’s favorite activity is splashing in small puddles.
Who knew these things could eat so much?
Siphonmites generally feed on the energies of dying worlds, but this one is perfectly content with getting some scritches from researchers instead.
Rares
Duskthief – The Nightreaver
Drawn to shiny objects. And darkness. Especially darkness.
Jimmy – Morgil the Netherspawn
Jimmy’s actual name is Morgilito, Spawn of Morgil, Chosen Enemy of Tazavesh, Devourer of K’aresh…but everyone just calls him Jimmy.
Heka’Tarnos, Bringer of Discord – Heka’tamos
This exceptionally loud lapbug’s calls were enough to throw the already destabilized elements in the local area into complete disarray. Now it’s your turn to get bugged.
Palek’ti, the Mouth of Nothingness – Malek’ta
Still not quite old enough to leave the nest.
Treasure
Sao’rhon – Ethereal Delve’s Heavy Trunk
A very friendly cosmic being. Direct eye contact will obliterate your soul.
Ixthal the Observling – Skeletal Tail Bones treasure north-east of The Oasis dome.
Ixthal enjoys hide-and-seek when not contemplating the slow devouring of entire worlds by the Void.
Mr. Long-Legs – Ancient Coffer
A favorite pet of some poor soul from before the fall of K’aresh, found trapped in stasis.
Reputation
Manaforge Vandals is a new Faction in Shadow Point. There are two pets to collect once you reach the appropriate renown levels.
Zo’ya – requires renown 8
Zo’ya is cunning and beautiful, both highly desirable traits among purrkins. Despite being the culprit behind many mishaps, her warm glow ensures she is forgiven for any transgression.
Looker Gaz’kreth Jr. – requires renown 13
While not viewed as insightful enough to be a Watcher just yet, he’s on the lookout for others to share his vision with.
Achievement
Starlight – Complete 4 Warrants in K’aresh for the Bounty Seeker achievement. You will need to finish chapter 3 of the campaign and reach renown 3 of The Karesh Trust. This will take 4 weeks to complete. Warrants can be picked up from Constable Zo’ardaz.
Seeks out the light of the stars. Even in the daytime.
To Be Confirmed
Worm, Cosmic – Critter (Red) – listed as an In-Game Shop source (cageable)
Unfazed Diver – ??, Tazavesh, the Veiled Market
While purrkin have a knack for getting lost, none have ever been so talented as this one. Purrfectly unbothered however, this curious creature can thrive in any situation.
Penumbral Terror – sold by Shad’anis at Overlook Zo’Shuul for 4 Untethered Coins. This currency is earned by completing the weekly quest “More Than Just a Phase.”
It waits and watches from the shadows. Softly. Softly.
Interestingly enough, there don’t seem to be any wild battles this time. Not sure how easy it will be to collect all 12 pet drops from the boxes. I guess time will tell.
