World of Warcraft’s eleventh expansion, Midnight, begins with the two pets in the Epic Edition – Hopeflutter and Doomfeathers.
Hopeflutter – Wherever it goes, it leaves behind a soft glow that stirs hope in even the darkest places.
Doomfeathers – It glides through the air with shadowy wings and a trail of eerie whispers.
Smoldering Valor is available from the in-game shop.
With boundless energy and unbridled enthusiasm, the foal seeks the skies. It may not be ready, but exercise caution if you try to hold it back.
There’s also a major change coming to the way pets are collected in Midnight. In fact, most will only be companion pets, meaning they no longer have any abilities to battle. At the time of this post, wild pets will no longer require battling to capture one. What an awful change for avid pet battlers. Hopefully, there won’t be multiple skins to collect like the rarest Hemospore from the Ringing Deeps.
Twilight Ascension Event

The Twilight Ascension starts on the 27th January, 2026 and ends on the 2nd March, 2026. Three pets will be available for 30 Twilight’s Blade Insignia each.
- Emerald Sporbit – This collection of spores exploded one too many times on its previous owner. Maybe you’ll have better luck with it.
- Rhay’Dahr – Ever watchful, never blinking.
- Scruff – Gotta be tough with the scruff.
Charity Pet

Habitat for Humanity has helped over 65 million people globally with the need for affordable homes. The charity pet pack includes Roofus, available in both Retail and Classic WoW. Players in Retail WoW will also get an adorable doghouse, bowl and bed decor items for your house. More specific information to come.
Achievements
Although there won’t be much pet battling content, three family metas have been added. I’m not particularly motivated to complete these achievements, and those initial pet battles aren’t much of a challenge, but you can work on these right now. The tamers can only be battled once a day, though, so you’ll need to visit them every day until each family has defeated them.
Family Battler of Kalimdor rewards Moon Darter
Since Amirdrassil’s emergence, many faerie dragons have taken refuge in Belameth. But many others continue to call Kalimdor home.
Family Battler of Eastern Kingdoms rewards Byrn
Its insides are a raging inferno. Its outside is happy pup.
Old World Family Battler rewards the Magical Pet Clicker (toy)
Family Battler of Northrend rewards Webbers
Web ball! Stone of reality! Web ball! Stone of reality!
It seems odd that the reward from a battle achievement is a companion pet, but here we are. Stay tuned for my Family Battler playlist if you’re after some strategies.
Gortham – from zone: Nexus-Point Xenas
A living anomaly and Kasreth’s most treasured experiment, this pink-furred creature scampers joyfully through conduits and pipes.
Midnight Dungeon Hero – complete each dungeon on Heroic. Rewards Niblet
Here are the pets you can expect from Midnight’s launch. Sadly, the majority will be companion pets, while there are 8 battle pets to collect.
Midnight Safari
Catch every wild pet (21) in Eversong, Zul’aman, Rootlands, and Voidstorm.
Rewards: Do, child of Fi’lo
Like his father, Do speaks little but is a friend to almost everyone except those who harm innocents.
Isle of Quel’Danas
Wrathful Wyrm – It’s popping wings! Run!
Nether Familiar – Arcane-infused wyrms are favored familiars of Eversong mages.
Eversong Woods
Amber Treeflitter – The forests of Eversong have enjoyed a recent influx of these flying critters.
Violet Chick – These prissy, flightless birds are known to relentlessly groom themselves. Much like their riders.
Vibrant Manaling – The mana wyrm population really picked up after the Arcane Torrent nerf.
Harandar
Azure Sporebat – Distinct from the sporebats that reside on Draenor and Outland. It’s just a coincidence.
Silkcrawler – Totally gonna transform into a beautiful winged creature, yup. It just might take a few dozen years.
Mud Potadpole – They do NOT taste like potatoes. Promise.
Rootling Nester – Young grovecrawlers are known to curl up around the ankles of its protectors for rest.
Waddles – Waddles was rejected by the other cave skippers and fell through the cracks, literally, all the way down to Harandar. He’s known to follow around people he finds.
Voidstorm
Blistercreepling – You’d think with all those spikes, it might pop its own pustule sac. But no! Its pustule sac is actually really sturdy! Pustule sac!
Devouring Runt – Hungry? Try eating your foes!
Voidcrawler – Formented in the chaos and dust of Voidstorm. It hasn’t even learned how to hate yet!
Riftblade Familiar – Rumored to be the familiar of a ren’dorei mage that escaped to the wilds of Voidstorm and became even more void infused.
Zulaman
Akil Fledgling – The molted feathers of these young eagles are used to build comfortable bedding for the Amani.
Gloom Toad – Have a hoppy day!
Striped Snakebiter – These creatures were bred to hunt snakes. With a low profile and a long body, Snakebiters are perfect for chasing serpents into their own holes.
Swamp Biter – Lurking beneath dark waters with needle sharp teeth. You can bite and drink their blood too, though. It’s allowed.
Ebon Snapling – Oh snap!! Lizard!
Dragonhawk Mosswing – These dragonhawks developed in the wilds of Zul’aman, where their green feathers and molt help them hide from hunters and predators.
Pangolil – He’s scheming. Smirking. Don’t trust him.
Silvermoon
Silvermoon Broom – Magisters love to turn on their enchanted brooms before heading off to work, only to find it stuck in a corner of their Silvermoon apartment.
Drop
Hexed Bunny – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
In the wrong place at the wrong time.
Ziorg’pharon – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
Ziorg’pharon, Emissary of the Cosmic Unknown, Ender of All That Is, Was, and Will Ever Be, or Zigy, as his friends call him, is physically incapable of harming a fly.
Nibblesworth – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
Very unhappy. Always goes for the jugular. Kind of cute.
Sporbie – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
“In this house we don’t lay spores in people’s ears when they sleep, no matter how funny their face is when they wake up.”
Lost Star – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
Nothing is known for certain, though some believe it calls the night sky its home.
Treja’saka – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
A curious species found only within treasure chests. Harmless enough, unless you happen to be wearing jewelry.
Spormilian – drops from the Delve’s End of Run Rewards
Waddles around in a constant cloud of spores. Harmless? Hard to say–we’re still waiting on the research team… or what’s left of them.
Princess Bloodshed – drops from Dame Bloodshed in Eversong Woods
Taking after her mother, Dame Bloodshed, the Princess is armed with the sharpest of claws and the furriest of ears.
Ominous Domanus – drops from Nullaeus
Truly evil, undeniably powerful… but above all, spectacularly lazy.
Treasure
Dali – drops from the Burbling Paint Pot in Eversong Woods
Dali, bored of his days basking in the comfort of the Solaarian Sunbath, seeks a world of new inspiration. You are that inspiration, and he will bring color to your world.
Nova – drops from the Slayer’s Duellum Trove in the Masters’ Perch zone.
He is a lover, not a battler.
Scruffbeak – hatches from the Weathered Eagle Egg in Zul’Aman. You can find it in the Abandoned Nest (42, 52) in a hollow tree.
Hatched from a long-forgotten egg, this scruffy little eagle has decided you’re its new flock, whether you’re ready or not.
Perturbed Sporebat – drops from the Impenatrably Sealed Gourd in Harandar. Enter the cave at 27, 67. Pick up the red and blue fluids on the lower level, mix them on the upper level, then use the mixture on the treasure.
After being rudely stuffed into a gourd in a vain effort to treat a Lightbloom infestation, this sporebat’s just grateful to be out.
Percival – drops from Kemet’s Simmering Cauldron in Harandar
This potadpole is constantly getting stuck in things.
Nether Siphoner – drops from the Quivering Egg in Voidstorm
A gnashing maw of teeth and tongues. This beast bears an uncanny resemblance to Azerothian leeches.
Willie – drops from the Half-Digested Viscera in Voidstorm
This bold elfhound was born to chase mana wyrms, and mana wyrm-shaped objects… Like unattended sausages.
Sunwing Hatchling – drops from the Rookery Cache in Silvermoon City.
Born and raised in Sunwing Rookery, this fella loves causing mischief when the tamers aren’t looking.
Vendor
P.O.S.T. Assistant – sold by Collector Ta’steld in Oribos for 2200 Timewarped Badges
While the markets of Tazavesh are a well-oiled machine, the P.O.S.T. service is a whirlwind of parchment, cartons, and rambunctious livestock. The use of P.O.S.T. assistants to handle dangerous material has saved a great many headaches.
TBD
Kai – Formed by the latent energies from the Singularity Anchor this Behemoth will be loyal till the end.
This post is a work in progress.
